A 27-year-old is accused of arson in Sychaina, Patras. According to SKAI, he denies the charges, claiming he remembers nothing because he had consumed a large amount of tsipouro. In contrast, the 19-year-old arrested with him confessed to his involvement, saying he started the fire with a lighter while under the influence of alcohol and hashish.

The two young men are accused of arson on forest and non-forest land, repeatedly and in complicity. They have been given time to apologize. Authorities have photos and testimonies showing the 19-year-old driving the moped and the 27-year-old in the passenger seat.

The Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes is investigating multiple incidents of arson in Western Greece and Chios. It is collecting testimonies, photos, and videos. Suspects and possible causes are being examined for the fires in various areas, such as Paliambela, Vatos Vonitsas, Flamboura Prevezas, Zakynthos, and Gymnotopos Prevezas.

A resident of Vounteni photographed the two arrested for Sychaina acting suspiciously. Residents found a bottle of gasoline near the starting point of the fire. Upon their departure from the courthouse, citizens shouted 'You burned Patras' at the accused.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old accused of arson near the Patras Nursing Home was applauded upon his appearance before the prosecutor.
