Amfilochia: Fatal Workplace Accident Involving Machine Operator

A machine operator died in a workplace accident in Amfilochia, Aitoloakarnania, on August 18. The accident occurred at the pumped-storage construction site in Alevrada.

The operator, approximately 40 years old and a resident of the Agrinio area, was working the night shift operating a road roller near the dam under construction. Under unclear circumstances, the machine overturned and crushed him.

Fire department forces extracted the operator, who was retrieved unconscious. The exact causes of the accident are under investigation, and further safety measures at the construction site are being considered.

The fire department confirmed the incident: "A man was retrieved unconscious after being crushed by a construction machine in the Alevrada area of Aitoloakarnania. 12 firefighters with 5 vehicles responded."
