Evros: Two Smugglers Arrested Transporting Nine Migrants

Two smugglers were arrested in Evros by police officers from the Police Directorates of Orestiada and Alexandroupolis. The detainees, one domestic and one foreign national, are accused of facilitating the entry of nine illegal immigrants into the country, in two separate incidents.

In the first case, police officers from the Orestiada Border Guard Department arrested a domestic national in a rural area of Evros, who was driving a car and illegally transporting three undocumented migrants. In the second case, on the Ardaniou - Ormeniou National Road, police officers from the Soufli Border Guard Department of the Alexandroupolis Police Directorate arrested a foreign national, the driver of a car from which six illegal immigrants had disembarked.

The vehicles and mobile phones were confiscated. The detainees will be led to the competent Prosecutors.
