Student Arrested for Arson at Itea Gymnasium

Police have arrested a minor student for arson at the Itea Gymnasium. In addition to starting the fire, the student is also alleged to have committed thefts at the Itea Lyceum.

According to police, the minor broke into the Gymnasium in the early hours of Sunday, January 18, 2026, causing damage to offices, desks, and other equipment. Subsequently, in the early hours of Monday, January 19, 2026, he broke into the Lyceum, where he caused further damage and stole a laptop, a calculator, computer parts, and 20 euros from the canteen.

The student resisted arrest. His parents were also arrested for neglect of supervision.

A case file has been opened against him for arson, theft, property damage, and violence against employees.
