Rare photos purportedly showing the faces of the 200 Greek resistance fighters executed at the Kaisariani Shooting Range on May 1, 1944, have surfaced in an auction on eBay. The photos, 82 years after the event, have not yet been officially confirmed as authentic.

According to reports, the photos were found in an album attributed to a German officer who served in Malakasa during the Occupation. The auction came to light through a post on the "Greece at WWII Archives" Facebook page.

The authenticity of the images has not been confirmed by an official body. The Kaisariani execution was one of the greatest crimes of the Nazi forces in Greece, carried out in retaliation for the death of a German general. If the photos prove to be genuine, they could add new elements to the historical record.
