Gavdos: Video Shortly Before Migrant Boat Capsizes – Three Dead

Tragedy off the coast of Gavdos, where a boat carrying migrants capsized. A video published by ERT shows the boat shortly before it capsized. According to the Coast Guard, at least three people were found dead.

In the video, migrants are seen crammed into a wooden boat, drifting in the waves. Voices of despair are heard when they spot an approaching vessel.

So far, 56 people have been rescued and are being transported to Agia Galini, Rethymno, by a FRONTEX vessel. The Coast Guard and the Air Force are continuing the search for missing persons. Those requiring medical attention are being transferred to hospitals, while the rest will be accommodated in an exhibition center in Chania.
