Crane Collapses onto House in Peristeri, Athens

A crane collapsed onto a two-story house in Peristeri, Athens, causing shock and disruption to residents.

The incident occurred on Friday morning when the crane, under unclear circumstances, pulled down power lines and crashed into the house, causing extensive damage. According to witnesses, the crane apparently lost control and crashed into the roof of the house.

An ambulance from EKAB took the driver, who was slightly injured. There were no trapped people or serious injuries. Traffic police stopped traffic on Arkadias Street due to subsidence of the road and overturning of the crane.

Teams from DEDDIE and Civil Protection are at the scene to restore power and remove the vehicle. Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident.
