Indonesia: Crocodile Kills 53-Year-Old in River Attack

A 53-year-old man in Indonesia tragically died after being attacked by a crocodile while swimming in a river with his family. The incident occurred in the Boulette River.
Eyewitnesses captured video footage showing relatives attempting to retrieve the man's body from the reptile. The 53-year-old, a father of four, was unable to withstand the crocodile's bite.
Local residents managed to trap the crocodile and recover the man's body. Locals expressed shock, as the river is frequently used for swimming and was not considered a crocodile habitat.
Indonesia is home to 14 species of crocodiles. Experts believe that overfishing and the destruction of coastal areas have driven the animals inland.
The video shows the crocodile with the lifeless body of 53-year-old Arifuddin in its jaws.
