Heraklion: Family Tragedy with Two Deaths – Son Seriously Injured

A family tragedy unfolded in Heraklion, resulting in two deaths and one seriously injured individual. A mother and uncle were found charred in an apartment on Halepas Street in Mastabas, Heraklion. Police are investigating.
According to ERT Heraklion, the elderly woman and her son were bedridden, with the other son caring for them for the past 13 years. During the fire extinguishing operation, firefighters discovered the man charred with a nylon bag over his head.
The second son, after going out on the balcony, fled to the neighboring building, climbed to the roof, and fell, seriously injured. He was transported to the hospital. Police are investigating the case, leaving all possibilities open.
Police forces and a medical examiner rushed to the scene. Initial findings led the Hellenic Police to take over the case.
