Heraklion: 54-Year-Old Detained for Child Abuse

A 54-year-old man from a village in Messara, Heraklion, has been remanded in custody after his deposition, accused of abusing his two children. His 42-year-old wife was released with restrictive conditions.

The 54-year-old faces charges of raping his 15-year-old minor daughter and his 24-year-old daughter with moderate intellectual disability. According to his lawyers, the accused denied the charges. The decision to remand him in custody was made pending the DNA results of the child born to the 24-year-old, who was given up for adoption.

His 42-year-old wife, also accused, was released with restrictive conditions last Friday, also denying the charges.
