Italy: 12 Tons of KitKat Chocolate Stolen – Easter Shortage Risk

Twelve tons of KitKat chocolate have been stolen in Italy, raising concerns about potential shortages ahead of Easter. According to a statement from Nestlé, the truck carrying 413,793 KitKat bars, departed from central Italy destined for Poland, but never arrived.
The company reports that the stolen chocolates can be traced via a unique batch code. KitKat warned that the theft could lead to shortages on shelves, with consumers facing difficulties in finding their favorite chocolates.
The company urged anyone who scans the batch codes of the stolen chocolate to contact KitKat. "While we appreciate the perpetrators' excellent taste, the fact remains that cargo theft is a growing problem for businesses of all sizes," the company said.
