A 23-year-old is accused of the murder and faces charges of intentional homicide and illegal possession of weapons. The attack appears to have been motivated by sports-related violence.

Authorities are searching for two more individuals who were with the victim. Both face charges of aggravated dangerous bodily harm and possession of objects that can cause bodily harm, with the aggravating provision of sports violence.

The 23-year-old was taken to the Thessaloniki Courthouse under heavy security and requested time to testify on Tuesday. He claimed he was attacked and used a knife in self-defense.

According to sources, the perpetrator allegedly visited a private doctor to treat his injuries after the incident. Forensic experts are examining three additional blows to the perpetrator's body, the origin of which has not yet been determined.

Eleni Zaggelidou, the family's technical advisor, stated that the 20-year-old died of uncontrolled bleeding due to a rupture of the heart wall from a stabbing and cutting instrument.
