Kalavryta: Abbot's Brother Shocked by Relic Case

The brother of the abbot of the Mega Spilaio Monastery in Kalavryta, who is accused of attempting to sell religious relics, has stated he is shocked by the case. Speaking to MEGA, he denied reports of his own involvement. "I can't imagine it," he stated.

The lawyer of the Metropolis of Aigialeia & Kalavryta, Giorgos Beskos, stated on Live News that the seized items do not appear to be relics of the Monastery. Private investigator Giorgos Tsoukalis stated that there may be new arrests.

The abbot's brother emphasized that his brother was devoted to Mega Spilaio and does not believe he would do such a thing. "I don't know if someone has framed him," he said.
