Kavala: Search Continues for Missing 59-Year-Old British Woman

The search continues for 59-year-old Michele Ann Joy Bourda, from Britain, who has been missing since last Friday from Ofrynio beach in Kavala. According to reports, the woman entered the sea while her husband was sleeping.

Neighbors of the 59-year-old in Glasgow described her as active and adventurous, with a love for the outdoors and swimming in natural waters. A Silver Alert has been issued for her disappearance.

The Coast Guard's searches have stopped, according to protocol, but patrols continue. The police are continuing the investigation, and there is interest from British media. A water sports instructor reported seeing a woman matching Bourda's description swimming in deep water and advised her not to go further.

Police are investigating a witness statement from a swimmer who saw the woman enter the sea while her husband was sleeping. According to Greek Police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou, there is no indication of criminal activity.
