Model agency owner Kristi Krana was the victim of a scam by a Roma gang, losing jewelry worth thousands of euros. As she reported to ERT, the scammers approached her by phone, posing as DEI (Public Power Corporation) employees and threatening to cause a fire in her home if she did not follow their instructions.

According to the police, the gang was operating from Zevgolatio, Corinth and had defrauded over 1,000 people, collecting a total of 7.6 million euros. The gang used various methods, such as telephone scams with false promises of refunds or fake vehicle sales.

Kristi Krana described that the scammers persuaded her to place her jewelry outside her front door, where they snatched it. She stated that after the incident she is afraid of even small noises.

ELAS (Hellenic Police) has solved 1,089 cases of fraud and continues the investigation to identify and arrest all members of the gang.
