Crete: Body of 61-Year-Old Found in Advanced Decomposition

The body of a man was discovered in the Rodia area of the Malevizi municipality in Crete on the evening of Sunday, August 31st. The body was found in a field under a tractor, in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to cretalive.gr, the deceased is a 61-year-old resident of the Linoperamata area. The last recorded call from his mobile phone was on August 15th.

The man lived alone, which delayed his discovery. He owned agricultural property in the Rodia area, where he was likely working when the incident occurred.

Police forces and a coroner arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of death. Due to the advanced decomposition, the cause of death remains unclear, with both pathological causes and a possible accident being examined.
