Lamia: Mourning the death of Deputy Mayor Kostas Stavrogiannis in a traffic accident

The funeral of the Deputy Mayor of Lamia, Kostas Stavrogiannis, who lost his life in a traffic accident, will be held tomorrow, Monday (23/6) at 17:30 at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Lamia. The burial will take place in Kalamaki Lamias, the birthplace of the deceased.
Kostas Stavrogiannis, an architect engineer, had a long tenure in the municipality of Lamia, serving in positions of responsibility in matters of technical projects, collaborating with three different mayors.
The accident occurred on the new ring road of Prophet Elias, shortly before the exit to the Lamia Hospital, at 05:40 on Sunday morning. The vehicle driven by his 54-year-old wife, Giota Koumbarou, collided head-on with a car driven by a 34-year-old.
64-year-old Kostas Stavrogiannis was pulled out dead, while his wife was seriously injured and taken to Lamia Hospital. The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The Mayor of Lamia, Panourgias Papaioannou, expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of Kostas Stavrogiannis, emphasizing his significant contribution to public affairs and his dedication to the municipality.
"I didn't get a chance to thank you," the mayor characteristically stated in his condolence message.
