The depositions of the first 16 defendants in the Crete mafia case have been completed. According to neakriti.gr, 10 were released with restrictive conditions, while six were remanded in custody. Another defendant received a postponement.

Three interrogators examined the first 17 of a total of 48 arrested in the courts of Chania.

Members of the Crete mafia used coding to avoid being detected by the police. When they referred to dwarfs they meant Kalashnikovs, when they talked about honeys they meant cocaine. They used two codes for the police, which were either 'shit' or 'monkey'.
