Large Cannabis Plantation Discovered in Epirus – Helicopter Used in Operation

A significant cannabis plantation was discovered in a forest area of Ioannina, near the border. Authorities seized 1,650 cannabis plants, ranging from 1 to 3 meters in height.

The operation involved the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Organized Crime Combating Directorate, in collaboration with the Ioannina Crimes Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate, Albanian authorities, EKAM police officers, and a Fire Department team. Due to the size of the plantation, a helicopter was used to transport the seized plants.

The plantation was found between Kastani and Agia Marina Pogoniou. The preliminary investigation is ongoing by the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of DAOE.
