Menidi: 37-year-old set fire to factory to steal copper

A 37-year-old was arrested in Menidi for arson at a factory. According to his confession, he attempted to steal copper from cables and set a fire to strip them.

The fire quickly spread due to strong winds, causing extensive damage to the factory and two neighboring businesses. Security camera footage captured the perpetrator arriving at the factory by bicycle with burglary tools.

The 37-year-old is known to the authorities for previous thefts and drug offenses. He has also allegedly robbed a minor and attacked a woman with a knife in the past.
