Palaio Faliro: Mother Faces Charges in 3-Year-Old's Death

A 32-year-old Algerian mother arrested in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter in Palaio Faliro is appearing before the investigator today. She faces charges of premeditated murder in a calm state of mind and domestic aggravated assault.
The mother initially claimed the child hit herself in the bathroom. Later, she stated that the child slipped into the sea. However, questions remain unanswered regarding the exact time of death.
The prosecutor has filed criminal charges for homicide and domestic violence. The case file includes a neighbor's testimony about previous incidents of abuse.
Forensic expert Dimitris Galenteris stated that the forensic examination revealed a discrepancy between the findings and the mother's claims. Water and sand were found in the lungs, indicating drowning. The injuries to the skull are not related to loss of consciousness from a fall.
Mr. Galenteris emphasized that "what the mother is saying doesn't add up" and called for an investigation into the circumstances of the death.
