Patras: Prosecutor Recommends Release in Nursing Home Arson Case

The prosecutor in Patras has recommended the release of the two defendants accused of arson at a nursing home in the city. The proposal has been forwarded to the investigator, who is expected to make the final decision.

According to tempo24, the prosecutor considered that there were grounds for their release, taking into account new evidence submitted by the lawyers of the two young men, aged 21 and 25. The lawyers chose not to appeal their pre-trial detention, but submitted supplementary information.

The 25-year-old was arrested on August 13, and the 21-year-old on August 18. The 25-year-old claimed he was at the scene as a volunteer to put out the fire.
