Piraeus: Car Falls into Port - Driver Safe

A car fell into the sea in the port of Piraeus, in the area of gate E1. The 42-year-old driver was rescued safely by members of the Coast Guard.

The incident occurred under unclear circumstances. Coast Guard personnel immediately rushed to the scene, located, and rescued the driver. The driver was taken as a precaution by ambulance to the General Hospital "Thriassio".

Divers from the Underwater Missions Unit carried out an inspection of the vehicle, without finding any other person.

The A' Port Department of Tzelepi of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
