Pieria: Prosecutor's investigation into dog attack on 61-year-old German woman

A prosecutor's investigation has been launched following a dog attack on a 61-year-old German woman in Pieria. The woman is hospitalized in the ICU with head and body injuries.

The attack occurred last Wednesday in a rural area between Litohoro and Dio. The 61-year-old was vacationing in the area and was attacked by a pack of stray dogs while taking a walk. She was initially taken to the local Health Center and then to Katerini Hospital, where she underwent surgery. She remains intubated in the ICU.

A 65-year-old deputy mayor of the area, responsible for stray animal issues, was arrested and released pending the prosecutor's investigation.
