40-year-old Remanded in Custody for Volos Murder

The 40-year-old man accused of murdering his 36-year-old wife in Volos has been remanded in custody. The perpetrator was led to court wearing a bulletproof vest and under heavy security measures.
In his statement, the 40-year-old claims that their relationship had deteriorated after Easter 2025, when he learned of his wife's extramarital affair. He claims that on the fateful day, he was in a state of "severe mental rage" and took her life without homicidal intent.
The accused states that he is remorseful and requests a psychiatric evaluation, citing a history of hospitalization and medication. The funeral of the 36-year-old will take place in Albania, while psychologists and social workers are supporting the couple's four children. The Social Service of the Municipality of Volos is conducting a social investigation into the children's situation.
