Wildfires in Achaia: Evacuations via '112' – Homes Destroyed

Dozens of wildfires are raging in Greece, with the most significant in Achaia and Chios. The Fire Service announced 63 new fires, bringing the total to 106. Greece has requested assistance through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
In Achaia, the fire started in Flogeraika, with fronts in at least five areas. Evacuations took place in Vrachnaiika and 25 other areas. Three burn injuries were reported, as well as damage to homes and businesses.
In Chios, the situation is particularly difficult, with three active fronts. The Coast Guard is evacuating citizens from Limnia and Agia Markela beaches.
In Zakynthos, the fire is burning uncontrollably, causing damage to homes in Agala.
