Rhodes: Drug Ring Used Coded Language – Arrests and Investigations

A drug trafficking ring in Rhodes used coded language to conceal its activities. The case involves 28 individuals and is under investigation by authorities.
According to the investigation, the ring trafficked cocaine using code words such as "bread" for a kilogram of cocaine and "flowers" for cannabis. The arrests of two women in May and June 2025, transporting cocaine from Piraeus to Rhodes, led to the discovery of the ring.
A 39-year-old Albanian, believed to be the mastermind, a 41-year-old sergeant, and others are involved in the case. Simultaneously, an investigation is underway into usury, fraud, and money laundering, involving police officers and others.
During an operation in February 2026, over 327,000 euros, cannabis, and cocaine were seized. The Rhodes First Instance Prosecutor's Office has filed felony charges.
