Rhodes: Smugglers Jailed for Landing Migrants

Two Turkish smugglers, aged 25 and 28, have been jailed following their arrest last Sunday (March 1st) in the Gennadi area of Rhodes. They were apprehended after a chase by the Coast Guard.

The smugglers, using a speedboat, transported 58 migrants, including 23 minors, from the Turkish coast and landed them on Rhodes.

They were identified as the operators of the boat by the other migrants. Their arrest followed a chase by patrol boat officers of the Coast Guard.
