Rome: 85-year-old attacks daughter-in-law with machete

A 41-year-old woman was attacked with a machete by her 85-year-old father-in-law in via di Bravetta, Rome, shocking Italy. The incident occurred shortly after the woman dropped her children off at school and was returning home.

According to Italian media, the 41-year-old encountered her father-in-law on the street, who allegedly ambushed her. The 85-year-old attacked her suddenly with a machete, causing injuries to her head and arms.

An off-duty Carabinieri officer intervened, disarming and immobilizing the elderly man. The 41-year-old was taken to San Camillo Hospital and, despite the severity of her injuries, her life is not in danger. Authorities are investigating the motives for the attack.
