Salamina: Naval Officer Arrested for Fire Started by Fireworks

A 40-year-old naval officer has been arrested in Salamina for arson by negligence after a fire was started by fireworks at a party. The fire quickly spread, causing damage to properties in the Vromopousi area.
According to witnesses, the fire started when fireworks were lit during a house party. The flames reached the yards of houses, causing extensive damage. The timely intervention of the Fire Department prevented the worst, but a car, a caravan, and a boat were severely damaged.
The arrested man admitted to throwing a firecracker, which caused the fire. A local resident reported hearing music and seeing the fireworks shortly before the fire broke out.
In other cases, a 62-year-old was arrested for intentional arson on the Attiki Odos highway, while a 48-year-old municipal employee in Pallini denies arson charges.
