Bar Sealed in Gazi After Death of 16-Year-Old

A bar in the Gazi area of Athens was sealed by Athens municipal employees on Saturday, following the death of a 16-year-old who consumed alcohol at the establishment. The Mayor of Athens, Charis Doukas, ordered the relevant procedures to begin.
According to the mayor, safeguarding the safety of citizens, especially young people, is non-negotiable. Investigations by the ELAS (Hellenic Police) into the death of the 16-year-old are ongoing. The autopsy indicated pulmonary edema as the cause of death, while toxicology test results are pending.
On the same night, EKAV (National Centre for Emergency Care) received other calls for cases of intoxication on Dekeleon Street. ELAS has requested data on transports from EKAV and the sealing of the establishment from the Municipality of Athens.
