A 76-year-old man has been remanded in custody after confessing to the murder of his 72-year-old neighbor in Dafni, Skydra. The accused faces charges of intentional homicide and violation of weapons laws.

According to protothema.gr, the 76-year-old claimed he acted in the heat of the moment and apologized, arguing that he had long-standing differences with the victim and that the victim tried to steal peaches from his field. He also requested a psychiatric evaluation.

The 72-year-old's disappearance was reported on August 17. The perpetrator confessed to the murder nine days later, indicating the location where he had abandoned the body. He confessed to shooting the victim with a hunting rifle and then hitting him with the car before abandoning the body in a landfill.

Authorities tracked down the perpetrator due to information about differences between the two men regarding land. During his initial statement, the 76-year-old contradicted himself and eventually confessed to the crime.
