Souda: Polish man accused of espionage - Had visited the area before

An investigation is underway by the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) regarding the case of the Polish man arrested in Souda on charges of espionage. According to protothema.gr, the man had been in the same area in 2024 and 2025 as well.

In his vehicle, a white van converted into a camper, were found a laptop, a tablet, and a USB stick. Photos of ships and airplanes from the base were found on his mobile phone.

The arrested man denies the charges. However, authorities are investigating the fact that the man was in Marathi from October until the beginning of Spring in previous years as well.

It is worth noting that this is the third arrest for a similar case in Souda in recent months. It was preceded by the arrest of an Azerbaijani in June and a Georgian a few days ago.
