20-Year-Old Arrested in Thessaloniki for Defrauding Citizens

A 20-year-old foreign national was arrested in Thessaloniki on charges of participating in scams targeting elderly citizens.
According to police, unknown individuals were calling elderly people, posing as accountants, and convincing them of the need to register their gold items. Subsequently, the arrested woman would appear, and after recording the gold items, she would steal them.
The group's activity is estimated to have started on January 13 and ended on February 27. The total value of the stolen gold and jewelry exceeds 250,000 euros.
Police officers from the Harilaou-Analipseos Crime Investigation Department arrested the 20-year-old and solved four related cases. She has been charged with felony fraud in collaboration and criminal organization.
