Drunk Driver Arrested in Heraklion After Chase

A driver was arrested early Sunday morning in Heraklion after a police chase. The driver, under the influence of alcohol, failed to comply with a traffic stop and attempted to flee.

According to police, the driver ignored red lights and prohibitory signs, and drove in the opposite direction of traffic. The chase ended when the vehicle collided with a police car.

The breathalyzer test showed alcohol levels of almost 2 g/L, well above the legal limit. In addition, the driver did not have a driver's license. A fine of 4,000 euros was imposed, and a case file was created for dangerous driving and other violations.
