Serbian National Arrested in Athens for Serious Crimes

A Serbian national, internationally wanted by Interpol Serbia, has been arrested in Athens for serious criminal offenses.

The arrested individual was wanted to serve a six-month prison sentence for illegal possession of narcotics and a five-year sentence for illegal production, possession, and sale of narcotics, as well as for illegal possession and sale of weapons and explosives. He is also accused of participating in a criminal organization and attempted murder, facing a potential sentence of 40 years in prison.

According to Serbian authorities, from 2019 to 2022, the arrested individual participated in a criminal organization in Serbia and is accused of attempting to murder a lawyer in Belgrade in February 2021. During searches of his residence, cannabis, cocaine, weapons, and ammunition were seized.

The arrested individual was brought before the competent prosecutor's office.
