Arrests for Robberies in Attica: One Involved in Rentis Murder

Police dismantled a criminal organization committing robberies at gas stations and mini-markets in Attica. Five people were arrested, one of whom was involved in the murder of police officers Giannis Evangelinelis and Giorgos Skylogiannis in Rentis in 2011.

The operation took place on Wednesday (14/1), with the arrest of four men and one woman, aged 58, 46, 33, 32 and 31 years. According to ELAS, the organization had been operating since August 2025, robbing gas stations and mini-markets in areas such as Petroupoli, Ilion, Peristeri, and others.

The perpetrators used the threat of weapons, and in one case injured an employee. Investigations uncovered 12 robberies with loot exceeding 8,960 euros. The arrested individuals were led to the prosecutor.
