Three men, aged 45 and 47, have been arrested in Troizina, Greece, accused of participating in a criminal organization that committed burglaries and illegal searches for antiquities using metal detectors.

The arrests followed an investigation into reported burglaries in the area. Two of the arrested individuals were caught in the act of conducting an illegal search with a metal detector in an archaeological site.

According to police, the organization had been active since at least May 2025, committing burglaries in homes and illegal searches for antiquities. Their activities extended to Troizina, Poros, Athens, and Lesvos.

During searches of the suspects' homes, €42,144, a flare gun, burglary tools, jewelry, and a metal detector were confiscated. The car used for their criminal activities was also seized.

The investigation has so far solved two burglary cases in the Troizina area. The arrested individuals were led to the Prosecutor.

In one instance, the perpetrators stole 100 liters of olive oil from a house.
