38-Year-Old Arrested for Assaulting Cleaning Employee in Athens

A 38-year-old foreign national was arrested by DI.AS. team officers in Agios Panteleimonas, as an arrest warrant was pending against him for attempted grievous bodily harm and violence against employees in complicity.

According to the police, the 38-year-old participated in the assault of a cleaning employee of the Municipality of Athens on June 7, on Niobi Street near America Square. After the attack, the perpetrator and his accomplices fled the scene.

During the arrest, the 38-year-old tried to avoid recognition by using a fake ID. In addition, small quantities of cocaine, raw cannabis, and ecstasy were found in his possession.

The arrested man was taken to the Agios Panteleimonas Crime Prosecution and Investigation Department and then to the competent Prosecutor.
