Three Arrested for Smuggling Migrants in Evros and Rodopi

Three foreign nationals have been arrested by police for smuggling illegal migrants in the Evros and Rodopi regions. The arrests followed two separate incidents.

In Evros, police arrested two smugglers transporting nine illegal migrants in a car. The driver failed to stop when signaled, but the vehicle was stopped after veering off the road.

In Rodopi, one smuggler was arrested while transporting six illegal migrants by car on a rural road.

The vehicles and mobile phones were confiscated. The arrested individuals will be brought before the Prosecutor, while investigations are continuing by the Soufli and Sapes Border Guard Departments.
