Trial Continues for Apartment Building Explosion in Ampelokipoi

The trial continues before the Athens Three-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies regarding the explosion in an apartment building in Ampelokipoi on October 31, 2024. During the trial, witnesses testified that apartment owners are staying in hotels at the state's expense, while others reported that they have not yet received compensation for property damage.
The restoration of the building, which includes 44 properties (9 commercial spaces), has been undertaken by the State with a private donation from a construction company. The five defendants deny the charges. Marianna Manoura, the partner of the deceased, expressed her regret for the damages, claiming that there was no intention to cause harm and that it was an accident.
The lawyer for Nikos Romanos stated that his client is "completely foreign to this case."
The trial is ongoing.
