Thessaloniki: Club Employees Acquitted After Minors Enter with Fake IDs
Share on:

A court acquitted two nightclub employees in Thessaloniki who were accused of allowing minors to enter. The employees were acquitted because the minors had presented fake IDs.

According to APE-MPE, the minors had electronically altered their IDs, changing the dates of birth.

The incident occurred when a 16-year-old was taken to the hospital due to intoxication. Police arrested a 59-year-old and a 29-year-old, who were initially prosecuted for endangering a minor and selling alcohol to a minor.

The 29-year-old, who works as a "doorman", testified that the minors showed fake IDs and did not appear to be under 18 years old. A reception employee testified that ID checks are carried out and paper IDs will now be required.

By order of the prosecutor, a case file will also be drawn up against the minors and their parents for possible neglect of supervision.
