Thessaloniki: 27-Year-Old Acquitted After Meeting with 14-Year-Old – 'They Beat Me and Called Me a Paedophile'

The Thessaloniki Misdemeanor Court acquitted a 27-year-old accused of soliciting children for sexual purposes, following a meeting arranged with a 14-year-old. The 27-year-old had reported being beaten by a group of people.

The 27-year-old, known to the authorities for a previous conviction for raping a minor, claimed he did not know the age of the girl he had contacted via Facebook. He claimed that the girl gave him conflicting information about her age.

According to his testimony, while waiting for the meeting in the Polichni area, he was attacked by a group of 20 people who beat him while shouting 'paedophile'.

It is noted that no complaint was filed by the minor, and it is estimated that the profile with which the 27-year-old was communicating was fake.
