According to the president of the Thessaloniki Police Officers Union, Theodoros Tsairidis, the Molotov cocktail caused burns to the officer's face and neck. "It tore a hole in his uniform even though he was wearing a vest, and the shirt underneath was burned!" he stated.
The incidents began after an unauthorized party at the AUTH Polytechnic School. Police made 313 arrests, but no one was charged. The Ministry of Education has requested explanations from AUTH regarding the incident.
