Thessaloniki: Three Arrests for Illegal Pitch Disposal Near Stadium

Three men were arrested in the Lagkada municipality area of Thessaloniki for violating environmental legislation. The arrested individuals, aged 32, 34, and 37, allegedly illegally disposed of pitch residue near the Lagyna stadium.

According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), officers found a truck and excavator dumping the pitch. The disposal was carried out without the necessary permits and instead of delivering the waste to a licensed recycling company. The 37-year-old was responsible for the pitch replacement work and a member of the contracting company.

According to police, the illegal activity resulted in environmental degradation, alteration of geomorphology, and changes in ground level.
