Trikala: Investigations at Violanta Factory Suspended Due to Explosion Risk

Investigations at the Violanta factory in Trikala have been temporarily suspended due to the risk of a new explosion, following the deadly explosion that claimed the lives of five workers.

Authorities are concerned about the propane leak, which has penetrated up to 25 meters below the ground. The flammable gas is believed to be pooling in the factory's basement.

Firefighters remain on alert, while inspection mechanisms are checking permits and safety measures. Possible omissions, such as the absence of fire safety systems, are being examined.

A 24-hour strike has been declared in Trikala on Tuesday, February 3rd. Workers reported a strong gas odor for weeks before the explosion.

The Violanta company states it is shocked and is cooperating with the authorities, asking for respect for the truth and the memory of the victims.
