Vangelis Stefanakis: Investigation into the Death of Faye Blacha's Killer

Vangelis Stefanakis, 36, convicted of the 2013 murder of Faye Blacha, was found dead in a house in Spata on July 24, 2025, while on leave from prison.
According to reports, Stefanakis' death was likely due to pathological causes, such as myocardial infarction, but authorities are investigating all possibilities. Two guns and vials of anabolic substances were found in the house and confiscated for examination.
During his detention, Stefanakis was allegedly involved in business activities, including a gas station and luxury vehicles. Authorities are also investigating his contacts with members of the Greek Mafia.
The murder of Faye Blacha in April 2013 shocked the public, with Stefanakis being sentenced to life imprisonment.
Additionally, Stefanakis had been convicted for participating in a 2012 attack by Golden Dawn members against a KKE member.
