Volos: 40-year-old kills wife with barbecue utensil

A tragic incident occurred in Volos, where a 40-year-old man killed his 36-year-old wife using a barbecue utensil. The crime took place in front of their four children.

According to iefimerida.gr, the perpetrator had been hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic after a suicide attempt in June. Police authorities are investigating when exactly he was discharged.

The argument started in their apartment, with the 40-year-old attacking his wife with the barbecue utensil. The woman tried to escape, but the perpetrator followed her and hit her again at the entrance of the building. The couple's 16-year-old daughter reported that her father was jealous of her mother.

The search for the perpetrator is fully underway. The 40-year-old is allegedly a drug user.
