Volos: Young Man Convicted of Scamming Elderly Woman – Posed as Doctor

A 25-year-old Roma man was sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence by the Volos Misdemeanor Court for defrauding a 77-year-old woman in N. Anchialos.

According to magnesianews, the 25-year-old, in collaboration with an accomplice, defrauded the elderly woman on December 20, 2025, extorting 10,000 euros in cash and valuables.

The perpetrator posed as a doctor and called the elderly woman, saying her daughter had an accident and needed emergency surgery. The woman, panicked, handed over the money and valuables to the 25-year-old who went to her house.

The victim identified the 25-year-old from photos at the Police station.
