Volos: Coast Guard Officer Arrested for Child Molestation for Payment

A senior officer of the Coast Guard was arrested in Volos for child molestation for payment. The 58-year-old is expected to testify before the investigator tomorrow.

The arrest was made as part of a police operation, following a complaint. The officer allegedly boarded two minors on a motorcycle and transported them to an apartment building on November 7, 2025.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the detainee is also involved in other cases of sexual acts with minors for financial compensation. He is also accused of bribery in connection with ship inspections.

A mobile phone and bedding were found and confiscated in the detainee's home and vehicle, which will be examined in the laboratory.
